Announcing the launch of New Varilux Comfort® lenses - July 6th, 2010
Essilor is proud to announce that beginning July 6th 2010, New Varilux Comfort lenses will be available to help patients enjoy all of the benefits of Varilux Comfort plus new advancements for ease of vision throughout the day in every aspect of modern life.
Developed using Essilor’s proprietary Live Optics research and development process, New Varilux Comfort lenses have been proven to meet the modern needs of today’s presbyopic wearer. Study results show that New Varilux Comfort provides wearers with more ease of vision than ever before as they go about their various daily activities and that the updated design allows for easy transitions from one field of vision to another.
Beginning July 2010, New Varilux Comfort, New Varilux Comfort Short and New Varilux Comfort Enhanced lenses will be available in 1.50 Index Plastic, 1.50 Transitions® VI Gray and Brown, Airwear® and Airwear® Transitions® VI Gray and Brown.
Beginning September 2010, New Varilux Comfort, New Varilux Comfort Short and New Varilux Comfort Enhanced lenses will be available in Thin&Lite® 1.60, Thin&Lite® 1.60 Transitions® VI Gray and Brown, Thin&Lite 1.67 and Thin&Lite 1.67 Transitions VI Gray & Brown.
INTRODUCTING VARILUX PHYSIO ENHANCED™ LENSES
Essilor is proud to announce the launch of Varilux Physio Enhanced lenses on February 2, 2010. Designed with W.A.V.E. Technology 2™, the next generation of wavefront technology, this new lens provides the sharpest vision at every distance, even in the most challenging low light conditions.
Variation in pupil size due to age, patient prescription, light conditions and viewing distance can lead to less sharpness in lower light conditions. W.A.V.E Technology 2 takes into account these four factors, creating a customized wavefront management of high-order aberrations. The result is a unique lens design tailored to the specific patients needs.
The patient will observe clearly improved sharpness in any light, less eye strain and reduced swim. This, in turn, leads to practical patient benefits like safer, more confident night driving and reduced eye strain in low-light reading, television and computer usage.
This unique new lens design is then applied to the lens using Essilors patented dual-digital surfacing process, guaranteeing optimal transfer of the Rx to the lens.
Varilux Physio Enhanced lenses are available in 17 lens materials at all fitting heights of 14 to 25 + mm.
20/20 AND VISION MONDAY READERS VOTE VARILUX 'BEST SPECTACLE LENS BRAND'
Essilor is proud to announce that Varilux® was recently voted the industry's Best Spectacle Lens Brand by readers of two of the industry's top trade publications - 20/20 and Vision Monday. Essilor was selected Best Spectacle Lens Manufacturer.
EyeVote Readers Choice Awards was a special survey aimed at identifying the best new products to hit the market in 2009. The EyeVote survey asked optical retailers and ECPs to identify the leading products in six distinct categories: optical frames, spectacle lenses, sunglasses, contact lenses, optical equipment and diagnostic instruments. Selected companies were chosen based on both brand and company choices supplied by readers.
EyeVote was conducted from Oct. 1, 2009 to Nov. 2, 2009. Respondents were contacted by email invitation to take the survey and links were posted on www.20/20mag.com and www.visionmonday.com. In tallying the votes, only one response per respondent was counted. Votes from manufacturers were ineligible. In total, nearly 2,400 readers voted in the six product
categories.
